FULL-TIME WASH BAY SUPERVISOR

Viessman Trucking is seeking a FULL-TIME WASH BAY SUPERVISOR in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This position is integral in ensuring the inside of our food-grade trailers are cleaned to the highest degree of food safety, customer satisfaction, and compliance with governmental regulations. No experience or specialized knowledge required! We provide paid, on-the-job training for the right candidate. 

WAGE & BENEFITS:

  • Wage: $19-$20/hour based on experience and qualifications ($18/hour for initial one-month training and trial period) 
  • Hours: 40 hours a week, daytime hours

JOB DETAILS: 

  • Wash Bay Supervisor and his or her team are responsible for cleaning the interior of food-grade tanker trailers with Wash System along with washing trailer exterior.
  • In charge of supervising team of wash bay technicians
  • Serve also as wash bay technician as needed
  • Ability to move trailers in and out of the Wash Bay with a Yard Dog
  • Supervise and complete all appropriate paperwork and submit all other documentation that is required to document the Wash Process
  • Supervisor will be on-call to respond as needed to resolve Wash Bay incidences
  • A successful candidate for this position will be detail oriented, a strong communicator, a self-starter and a good team player
  • Supervisorial or management experience a plus

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION: WASH BAY SUPERVISOR

This job description is subject to change as required to achieve the highest degree of food safety, customer satisfaction, and compliance with governmental regulations. 

Functional Role 

  • The functional role of this position is to manage the Cedar Rapids Viessman Trucking wash bay facility and secure compliance with Viessman Trucking Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) program. HACCP is an internationally recognized method of identifying and managing food safety related risk and, when central to an active food safety program, can provide your customers, the public, and regulatory agencies assurance that a food safety program is well managed.
  • Monitor the wash facility and the employee’s thereof and take corrective measures when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with customers.

Reporting Relationship 

  • The Wash Station Supervisor reports to the Project Manager.
  • The Head Wash Technician & Wash Technicians report to the Wash Station Supervisor.

Authority 

  • The Wash Station Supervisor has the authority to make decisions necessary that maintain the wash facility in compliance with Viessman Trucking HACCP Program along with governmental and customer requirements.
  • The Wash Station Supervisor has the authority to hold accountable all employees reporting to him/her, and take corrective measures according to Viessman Trucking accountability procedures.

Responsibilities 

  • Secure compliance with company HACCP Program
  • Advise Project Manager of incidents and situations
  • Investigate incidents, develop solutions, and complete incident reports
  • Enforce company, customer, and governmental rules and regulations
  • Perform self-audits for wash station
  • Perform calibration tests on instruments
  • Sanitation, and periodic maintenance schedules
  • Sign off on all documentation as necessary (exp. Daily circle chart)
  • Handle customer issues that arise
  • Train and advice employees
  • Correct behavior of employees as necessary
  • Schedule washes times for trailers
  • Staff wash bay and set up working hours
  • Advise visitors of Viessman Trucking policies pertaining to the wash bay
  • Order and maintain inventory items
  • Confirm annual tanker inspections are completed
  • Perform maintenance as necessary, such as pump seals
  • Help maintenance and mechanic shop during slow times
  • Enter trailer numbers in Dispatch
